My truck wont start. When I jumpstart it as long as I leave the jumper cables on the truck stays running but as soon as I take the cables off it runs for a little while and then it dies. My question to you is WHY does it do this?

Your charging system is weak or faulty. Your alternator may have failed resulting in the draining of your battery as well. With no battery, the vehicle can't start, with no alternator the vehicle can't remain running. Have both tested and replaced as necessary. Don't forget to check the battery cables for clean tight connections.
