Hi. My Dakota doesn't start well after it's been off for a while (over an hour I'd say). If I let it turn over a couple times, turn the key back, and then try to start it again it usually fires up pretty quickly. If I just hold the key down until it start it can take quite a while. I have no problems once it's running. I am getting error codes P456, P442, and P302. The 302 error code just started recently whereas the hard start has been persistent for quite a while. I plan on replacing the spark plug and spark plug coil this weekend.

Any suggestions?

See what the error codes are in a chiltons book or have a shop hook computer up to it. I know that these dakotas have to have a certain amount of fuel pressure from fuel pump not sure how much. Hope this helps
