I have a 2000 Dakota 4.7L A/T 4x4 192,000km's. It suddenly started running very terrible. I shut it off running great, ran into the store and came out 5 minutes later. It started no problem but then instantly started running very rough and stalling. I managed to get it home by holding my foot on the gas and brake. I connected my OB tester up and the only code that came up was P0202 Injector circuit/open cylinder 2. I changed the injector, and still the same but found that both injectors are working properly connected to the truck. I've disconnected the battery for 2 days and still no change.
Any idea's?

I didn't but my repair shop said the injector was working fine, he couldn't understand why the code was coming up.

If the injectors are good and there isn no problem with them, I would recommend checking for vacuum leaks and checking fuel pump pressure.

Also, have the check engine light shut off and see if it comes back with the same code.

I haven't yet checked the fuel pump pressure but I have cleared the codes a few times. It continually comes back with P0202 after a few minutes of running. My repair shop said it also came up with engine speed sensor, but I haven't seen that one yet. What happens if the PCM fails, will is still run or run rough? If I can keep it running long enough, it still seems to have a lot of power.

Yes to the PCM. It could still run, but I don't think that is where the problem is coming from. (Not saying it couldn't be that) Some of the things that could cause this code are a bad injector. This is usually the cause of this code but it doesn't rule out the possibility of one of the other causes such as an open in the wiring to the injector, short in the wiring to the injector or a bad PCM

So yes, the PCM could be the cause, but if the injector is working, like your mechanic said, I would thing there is a wiring problem. I would ask if they checked all of that before replacing the PCM.
