Yes guys, I'm working on my son's truck and this is what it's doing. It is running rough, with a slight miss. When taken out on a drive it's got a little back fire through the carb. I'm thinking it's needing a tune up and to reset the timing. What can you tell me about setting the timming, like were should it be set at and at what degree. If you could help it would be alot of help. Thanks Allen

If you are getting a backfire, check for vacuum leaks. Also, make sure the egr isn't plugged with carbon and the egr valve is working and not stuck. Backfiring usually comes from a vacuum leak.

Let me know if it helps. I believe the timing is aprox 4 DBTDC
