I HAVE A 98 DODGE CARAVAN 3.0 WITH 175,000 MILES. THE DASH GAUGES QUIT WORKING SO I SLAPED THE DASHBOARD WITH MY HAND AND THEY STARTED WORKING. I HAVE HAD TO DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES. DOES THIS MEAN THAT I NEED ANOTHER DASH OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I NEED TO LOOK FOR?

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere in the dash. Might want to remove the cluster and be sure the plugs in the back fit tight with no corrosion or anything to prevent a clean connect

I agree; mine did the same thing and I came to find out that a couple of the bulbs in the cluster were loose. All fixed now :D
