2002 Dodge Caravan Help. Black Smoke.

I was driving one minute she was fine, then instantly it wouldnt excelerate it was going maybe 5-10 mph and there was thick black smelly smoke coming from the muffler, the air filter & spark plugs were brand new and it had a oil change a month pryor, what could've gone wrong so quick?

Are you sure it is black and not blue smoke. If it is black, make sure the fuel pressure regulator is good. Black smoke is caused by too much fuel to the engine.
