2002 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl

I drove the van for half an hour and stopped in the parking lot. However I did not shut off the engine. After 15-20 minutes, I was talkng to someoone outside the van and smelled coolant. I stopped the car and checked under hood and noticed coolant had leaked. Then I drove again for 5 minutes and shut the engine but there was no leak after that. What had happened and why?

thanks for the donation. Where was the leak? The engine temp may rise when idling for a long time. Does the radiator fan come on like it should? If the leak was around a hose, you might tighten a clamp. Some possibilities, radiator cap-- thermostat-- no flow/low flow through the radiator. Keep an eye on the temp gage. Any codes?
