I just had a full tune-up and my check engine light is on and my transmission is leaking. I really do not know what to do at this point? Who can I trust to do the right job? And what is considered the right thing to do? I know that in the long run if this continues my transmission is going to go. What can I do to solve this problem?

thank you

first is it real bad leak? the u need to find out where it is coming from .can be done by cleaning trans off and running and looking where leak is coming from. most common leak is the 2 tran rubber cooler lines. the 2 lines made of rubber that go int the front of tans if you can turn them and they move there in need of new clamps or tightening, if you cant tell wear it is coming from, and leak is not to big, at least fill trans to proper level. use atf+4 only dont use dextron or mercon. start car while in park pull dip stick out and look at level if cold read cold level if hot read hot level. keep full until you can find a good mechanic
