Electrical problem 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 134000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My gas gauge swings wildly after it reaches 3/4 tank or less, and constantly sets off the alert chime. Is there a way to turn off the chime until I can get the fuel sensor replaced?

Hello,

There is no way to remove the chime warning you will need to replace the sender and fuel pump module which is causing the problem.

Here is a guide to give you an idea of what you are in for when doing the job.

Here is how it will be on your car (below)

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
