My car was stolen and the kid was pulled over for doing neutral drops. A couple weeks later I was driving down the road and there was a loud breaking noise and the car wouldnt go into to gear. The transmission fluid leaked out and it wasnt burnt. Ive been told that a pin came loose and ripped a hole in the case and that I can weld it back and get a new case. Is that correct?

Why would you put the old parts into a new case? This is a fairly common problem. Just have a used or rebuilt transmission installed.

The abuse caused a small pin to break which allowed the larger pin to wobble out the hole it sits in. That is the differential assembly. Putting in a new differential into a new case means a lot of careful measurements and adjustments to prevent howling noises. In the long run, you'll pay more by trying to reuse old components. Just have a rebuilt transmission with a warranty installed.
