Diesel fuel mixing with engine oil

Hi,

Having some issues where it seems like diesel fuel is mixing with the engine oil, any ideas how this could be possible and what kind of damage could I be looking at cost wise to repair?

There is alot of blue smoke while the engine is running and a constant thumping noise coming from the engine when it runs.
