The van was running like brand new, no problems at all. I went to leave, and the starter went out on it. So, I put a new one in, and I also put a new battery in case the other one was old. After getting it all back together the van won't start; it cranks over like it should, but it won't start. I hit it with a little starting fluid, and it still won't start it's I checked the fuel pump and it's pushing gas. So, I need to know what the problem could be.

Hi,

It sounds like the ignition spark to the plugs was lost. Do me a favor. Check that first. Here is a link that explains how it's done:

If there is no spark and you have a scan tool that has live data, check to see if there is an RPM signal when cranking the engine. If there isn't one, then chances are it is related to the crankshaft position sensor. Also, I believe the sensor is near the starter, so you may have disconnected it, or the wiring may have been damaged.

Attached is a pic below of the sensor location.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
