I see it at 231 a bit passed the middle line. But it maybe because I had the coolant system open while doing some work, is there a bleeding valve or screw to these?

Hi,

The idea that it is going slightly past center, 231 degrees, really isn't a concern. Do you notice this at all times or is it after climbing a hill or while sitting in traffic? Also, have you confirmed the coolant is full?

Also, have you ever serviced the cooling system? As mentioned, at that temperature I'm not really too concerned because it isn't out of the ordinary. If it slowly continues to climb, then I would recommend flushing the cooling system and replacing the thermostat.

If you do decide to do that, here are two links that explain the process:

It's a good idea to do them at the same time so you don't waste coolant.

Let me know if this helps or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, that's what I mentioned the coolant system was open during some work, didn't mesn 231, meant over the middle where it should not be. What an asking is if there is a coolant relief screw for bleeding these like the grand caravan do. I am familiar with how to so it just need to know if there is one.

Hi,

No, there isn't a bleeder. The procedure requires specialized tooling (vacuum generator).

I attached the directions below specific to this vehicle. Take a look through them and let me know if you have questions.

Take care and Happy Thanksgiving.

Joe

I found a bleeder on the front housing right next to the thermostat, added coolant until water came out from there and all is good.

Interesting, and I'm glad you told me. Two different manuals indicated what I recommend above. Regardless, I learn something new every day.

Take care and enjoy the holiday.
