Coolant leak and A/C blowing hot air?

My coolant reservoir has a leak. When it started leaking I noticed that my A/C started blowing hot air. When I took it to the dealership they told me that the compressor had a leak on the bottom driver's side. But when I took my car home I put dye in the lines and also used my chemical leak reader and the compressor does not have a leak. Could the coolant reservoir be the issue for my A/C air?

Hi,

As far as the leak (coolant) is concerned, the only way it will cause the A/C to not work is if the engine is overheating. At that point, the PCM shuts power to it to eliminate the added load on the engine.

When you turn the A/C on, do you notice if the compressor is turning on? Also, it sounds like you have an idea of what you are doing, so have you checked the high and low side pressures?

Let me know that. Also, take a look through this link and let me know if anything helps:

Let me know if that helps and any information you feel may help.

Take care,

Joe
