Hi def127,

So the motor is working hard but the air flow is weak.

Check for air flow leaks and clogging or air passages. Is there any air escaping from other vents like the defroster etc?

Might be clogging of the air flow fins in the evaporator.

It appears that after further diagnostics, there is a self diagnostics through the control head, if there are any codes it will tell the pcm not to engage compressor. I ran self diagnosticcs and it had blower speed fault. Went through testing and found out that resistor is causing blower speed fault. Will have the part in 3 days, will update when part comes in if that resolved my issue. Thank you to all who responded and tried to help me through this.

I had the same problem with my crv
I checked the cabin air filter located behind the glove box and there was no doubt in my mind where the problem was.
The filter was so plugged I'm surprized any air was getting through at all.
Changed the filter and no more problem.

UPDATE ON REPAIRS: I replaced blower motor resistor, went through self diagnostics again as directed by trouble shooter. Started vehicle and turned on air. Works great! 31 degree drop at center vent!

Hey Carguy598,

I'm having the same issue I just ordered by a resistor. My mechanic mentioned the resistor won't cause my compressor not to come on because it's a separate unit but I have my doubts and with your post, I'm almost sure it's the same issue. Fingers crossed I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the info!

I have a problem with my car air condition. When I drive cold hair blows but when I don't dive or step on gass and just park the car my ac blows hot air. What do you think it's wrong with it?

So I have great news which I will list below to make it easier to understand for whoever else reads this.

Vehicle:
1999 Honda Crv with 210k
Automatic

Issues:
1 - Blower motor only would turn on when climate controller was set to high (Bad resistor)
2 - AC compressor wouldn't turn on even if climate control was running on high (AC was fully charged, AC compressor was manually tested and it turned on.

Attempt to fix AC Compressor turning on:
1 - Checked all fuses and relay (All were good)
2 - AC system was emptied and refilled with new freo. (No leaks)

Solution:
1 - Replaced resistor (It fixed both issues of AC compressor not turning on and climate control fan speed)

Thanks Again,

Mario
