Car running fine, was shifting fine. Whining noise started and it felt funny shifting.
Pedal went to floor and can no longer shift when running.

Fluid leak in clutch system, this will cause the pedal to fail but the noise may be a faulty thrust bearing. I would get the hydraulics bleed up first to check the noise out before making any decisions. Probably the box will have to come out if there is any noise in the clutch, and with this I would be over hauling the clutch and hydraulic system as a complete job.
