I just got the 'light' on in my van. I noticed as I was taking it to the autozone to have the engine light codes read that the speedometer and odometer were not working. I received the codes P0731, p0500, and p0700. On the way back, I noticed that the van did not seem to get out of 1st gear. There is no leaking fluid that I can tell and before this light came on the shifting of the tranny was very smooth.

Could this simply be a speed sensor replacement?

Thanks,
Steve

The only code my software lists is the P0700, which is no vehicle speed signal.Thsi will cause thetrans to not shift and some gauges to not work. This is most likely the Vehicle Speed Sensor, it is located on the extension housing of the trans.
