I recently had a tie rod go out on the passenger side of my vehicle. I had that fixed by a mechanic who also checked the drivers side tie rod to make sure it was tight. Two weeks later I hear a popping or clunking noise occasionally when I turned. I let my car sit for one day after hearing that twice while driving and then the next day I drove it to work in the rain and did not hear it. Soon after the rain dried up I drove it to the gas station where I heard another pop or clunk as I turned. I went to another mechanic he was thinking it was the CV Joint but he drove it and checked it out and said he couldnt find anything wrong with it. What could this be? It doesnt happen every turn and I hadnt heard it driving it back from the mechanic.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH TIE ROD. REPLACED PASSENGER SIDE, CHECKED DRIVERS SIDE SEEMED O.K. 3 WEEKS LATER DRIVERS SIDE SNAPPED WHILE DRIVING MAKING ATURN. THEY DO NOT HAVE GREASE FITTINGS FROM FACTORY SO IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH UPPER&LOWER BALL JOINTS NO GREASE FITTINGS.
