2000 Chrysler Sebring oil on spark plugs

Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 110000 miles

i went to change my spark plugs and wires and there was i think oil all over the wire boot and the plugs i think on both sides. Im pretty sure thats not normal.....does anyone have an idean about what could be wrong......thanks for any help.......
its a sebring lxi 2.5L v6....

Are you experiencing rough idle, if not could be the valve cover gasket leaking. Oil in the cylinder is bad news.

yeah the idle was pretty rough......i think that maybe the oil is only on the top of the spark plugs not in the cylinder head......i just looked at them......does it cost alot to have a new valve cover put on or is it easy to do urself?

It should cost you less than $200.00. Or you can do it urself the gasket is $23.00.
