I took my car to an auto store and had them hook it up because of the check engine light. My car wasnt shifting into 2nd gear, the computer said it was the shift solenoid. I got the part changed, now my car wont even go in any gear but it did fine before, but now im leaking fluid bad. Could that be the reason why? Is this something so simple I just dont know?

Thanks!

Hi there,

You may have disturbed something when you did this repair, do you have enough oil in the system with this leak, did you fit a new pan gasket? This should have been replaced if you did not do so.

So I need to go out and buy a new pan gasket? That should work for the leaking right? Would that have anything to do with it not going into any gear? Like I said it was fine before, I could drive it and everything it just wasnt coming out of 2nd gear.

You need to check your work to make sure that nothing has been disturbed, if it was OK before you touched it then it will be low oil or something disturbed when you did the job, look carefully you may see something loose.
