For the past 3-4 months my car has Progressively been driving worse and worse to the point where i have to GUN my car just to get it to go. It used to Be a very quick car and i did not have to get my RPM's high to get up and go. Also when i am driving it shifts bad sometimes like it Jerks while it shifts. I have done nothing besides ordinary oil change/ air filter change since i got it 2 years ago. The day i got the car when i pressed the gas it went. Now when i press the gas it is very loud but doesnt go anywhere. My check engine light came on and it says "EGR valve flow insufficient" could that be the source of my problems? or could it be other things added on to that?

Could be the EGR valve and the following below

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
