Ok here it is. When my car idles it idles rough. Ive had it hooked op to a computer but it only showed that my cooling fan was out, which I already knew. It has been over heated once or twice. But when I put new plugs in it it straightens out. It does have close to or over 200,000 miles. What is the most likely problem im having and what do I need to fix this?

I ment to add in the question that when I pulled the plugs, the plugs in cylenders 1 and 2 where covered in oil. This being said I dont think its the fuel pressure.

If the plugs are covered in oil then you have a more serious problem thatn a fuel pressure regulator. Check compression on allcylinders

Unless you change the plugs your roughness at idle or anywhere wont go away. Check your compression dry on all 4 then wet by spraying oil in cylinders send me the readings.

Engine running rough or misfiring can be cause by the following:

1. Defective spark plug
2. Inadequate spark/coil, defective spark plug wire.
3. Lack of compression
4. False air leakage.
5. Faulty fuel injectors.
6. Insufficient fuel pressure.
7. Contaminated fuel.
8. EGR valve that is leaking.
9. Oxygen sensors.
10. Throttle position sensor.
11. Idle air control valve.

Check wiring. To the cam sensor for corrosion, check catalytic converter for plugging, make sure timing is correct

Turning the A/C on simply adds more load to an engine that likely had a problem already. It could be many things like a vacuum leak, ignition problem, fuel problem or more serious internal problem.

I'm stumped. I have replaced the plugs 3 times, the coil and wires twice, checked the wiring for proper continuity, and replaced the PCM with a reman. Every time I reset the DTC codes, the vehicle will run fine until about 2000 rpm then start missing and through P2305 first, followed by P0300 then P0352. Plugs 1 and 4 look clean and plugs 2 and 3 look dirty. I have cleaned the MAP and the IAT. Both coils show 0.45 ohms primary and 11k ohms secondary.

I have checked the Crank and cam position sensors and and associated all wiring. I cannot think of anything else the problem could be other than the new PCM. Any suggestions?

You gotta have fuel too. Try switching two injectors to see if the misfire goes to a different cylinder.

Took the car to the dealer. Found out the PCM had to be flashed a second time. They also did an update. There is a service bulletin on the new recommended spark plus. Champion Copper Plus. The PCM was manufactured by Auto Computer Exchange. After a call to their support about the issue, several hang ups and dead end transfers, and the asinine response from their support, I will never use them again and will recommend to everyone I know to find a different company. From my experience, they do a half-assed job on the PCM's and do not want to support their work.

Our PT Cruiser is running rough after you drive it about 5 miles. This started after I changed the plugs, wires, and coil yesterday. I have since changed the intake gaskets and MAP sensor and still no luck. I am getting codes P0352, P0351, P0300, P0171.

You are getting codes for coil primary circuits so something went wrong with the coil change. Check you work, especially the coil connectors.
