2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Strange noises between 1000 and 20

Hi while driving my PT Cruiser and between 1000 and 2000rpm (or accelerating from a low gea) I hear soem metal grinding rateling noises from the lower front end, nmaybe the middle of the car. After reaching 2000rpm the sound stops. I've checked the car for loose parts etc. But the problem is still there. Please help

Check the exhaust system. There may be a loose heat shield on the catylatic converter, or the interal parts in the converter may be loose. Take a rubber mallot and tap on and around that part of the exhaust to see if you hear the sound. Let me know what you find.
