About a year ago, water started pouring into my car on the passenger side, from under the dash. This guy I know "bypassed" my heater core at that time. I haven't had heat since then (obviously), but I've had cold air. Now, as of about a week ago, the water started pouring again, is it a hard fix? Is it going to mess up my car if I can't get it fixed right away? Is there a shop around the Seattle area that would do it reasonably or should I try to do it myself?

Hello

Aside from having to keep an eye on your coolant level and having no heat, the leak will also cause rusting and mildew under your carpeting if you let the problem persist.

I do not know your area so I can't answer the question about a reputable shop there. It is a large project to take on. You have to disassemble the dash to reach the heater core. A repair shop is advised if you do not have much experience with mechanics. I have below an estimate for replacing your heater core at a repair shop.
