I have a 2001 Chevy express with 160,000 miles.
A/C works only for a while when first started. I loose all voltage to the cycling switch. Of course then the compressor will not kick in. Where do the wires go to from the cycling switch? I have swapped the A/C relay.

It looks like the feed for that switch(green wire)comes from the powertrain control module and the black wire splices into the ground curcuit for the compressor. I would have the codes checked and see if maybe the computer is camanding the a/c system off for some reason. Not all codes will turn on the check engine light. You may have a low freon code or something setting.
