1998 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 L 107,000 miles. Starts and runs but when it idles its misfiring on Cylinder 1. Also the engine shakes violently causing the whole car to shake. The car also is very loud. The fuel pump has been changed. The head gasket. New spark plugs. And a new cam sensor. Any opinions on what might be the problem?

Have you changed the coil pack for the no.1 cylinder?
Did you test the compression of the no.1 cylinder?
If you have eliminated the ignition, i.E. Spark plug, wires and coil, then you might want to pull that valve cover off and see if you have a visible problem with the valves.
Another thought is if you have a fuel injector that sprays in the intake manifold for each cylinder, maybe that one is not firing correctly, or at all.
You may have to take this one and have them put it on an engine analysist machine to check it out.
Good luck!
