1996 Chevy Truck my engine is overheating

My engine keeps overheating and when it does the purge tank starts spewin out steam. I put coolant in it but it keeps doing it. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it

Try replacing the thermostat and see what happens.

Yeah I fixed it last night but when I went to pick up my fiancà © from work I found another problem I have a leak somewhere in the lines cause all of the coolant I put in was gone
