I have a 2000 Tahoe with 90,000 miles. Just recently the fan control which has 5 positions, only works on the highest setting. Settings 1 through 4 do not activate the fan. Can this be related to a fuse or is their some seperate module that controls the lower speeds? This vehicle also has a fan control for the rear air and it is unaffected and works fine.

I would say that you have a bad blower motor resister. It is located right there by the fan. If you have a test light then you can check the wires for power as you operate the switch.
