This is a 2004 Silverado, 4 dr auto. The problem is when coming to a stop and after letting off the brake there is a loud clunk, the only sound I could describe, it's like something moves forward when stopping and then moves backwards after complete stop and brake is released. If I let it down shift all the way before stopping it seems to go away. Transmission shifts quitely and smoothly during normal driving

Im having the same problem I think. When I'm driving and then come to a stop then let off the brake pedal to take off again before even hitting the gas there is a thud, bump or hit coming from the rear of the truck. Kinda hard to explain. Could it be the rear end needs to be rebuilt or replaced?
