Hows it going? My 1998 Silverado has got a shake in the steering wheel when you hit a bump, or if you hit the brake, it doesnt all ways do it when you hit the brake. But when it does shake it will shake the whole steering wheel back and forth fast and go a way, or hit the brakes and it starts, let go, and it goes away. I dont think it has bad roders because it doesnt do it all the time like it would if you needed to be turned. Thanks for the help, Mike

Have the brakes checked anyways, also have the front end checked for loose parts. Does it do it at a certain speed?

I checked I the brakes and the had about 3/4 left on the pads, I had the front end looked at and the only thing they found wrong was the pitman arm was worn. I replaced it and still continued to do the same, all thou the steering did tighten up some. I then thighten up the ajustment screw on the steering gear box and it has cut the shaking down to about half. So I am thinking that my steering gear box may need to be replaced. Does this sound right? And is it common for one to cause a shake? Thanks MIke
