1997 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I changed my fuel pump and spark plugs because my fuel pump went out. The truck turns over but won't start. What can it be?

Are you getting spark and fuel to the engine? Are you sure you replaced the spark plug wires in the correct order?

I replaced each plug and wire one by one. Each wire had spark. It tried to turn over and blew a couple of black clouds but won't start. I sprayed starter fluid in the tbi just to try to make it start but nothing.
