1996 Chevy Silverado misfires

Under light load conditions or light accelleration my truck misfires to the point as if someone is turning it on/off. Sometime this OFF can last 1/4 sec

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? When was the last tune up?

Thank you for your reply. In answer to your question. When I bought the truck in August the engine light was not showing. However when it came time to reinspect I failed due to 3 problems. I replaced the aged catalytic converter, replaced the O2 sensor per inspection codes and also the crankcase sensor. At this time the codes are all clear. I recently (less than 3000 miles) replaced all plug wires with good quality wires, replaced plugs, rotor and distributor cap. The trans has recently been overhauled and torque converter replaced. Other than the on/off at light loads the truck seems very sound.
