everybody tells me that adding a high performance cam to my truck with throttle body injection is impossible, given the engine year,TBI, an seems to be no aftermarket superchips to alter programming for the computer.is this true?

They do make cam grinds specific to TBI engines, but they are very mild. When camming a speed density (MAP sensor) engine you cant go too big on the cam or the vacuum signal to the ECM gets erratic and it wont idle or run properly at low rpm's. That is why they hot rod MAF (Mass Air Flow) engines, they dont rely on themanifold vacuum for the ECM readings. I think Superchips in Huntington Beach, Ca makes a TBI chip (800) 535-1161
