The wipers started working intermittently when going through the cash wash. Now under all circumstances. What wires in the motor connector should I test to by pass the switch to see if it is the motor?

Remove the wiring harness from the motor. Turn the wipers on (when not working) and check for power.

Wasn't there a technical bulletin on these about water getting into the controller and recommending replacement with newer unit that was either sealed or had a gasket? I'll try to look it up and let you know.

Might want to check with a dealer, a few years back mine was acting similiar, turned out there was a factory recall on the motors. Internal wires shorting out and causeing fires.

Yes, there was a technical bulletin recall on these from 1993 to 1995 I believe the years were. Anyway, they were a known problem and you should have gotten (or the person who bought the vehicle new got) a letter telling you (them) to bring it in for a repair. I called around and just about any replacement wiper motor you can get now is compatable with the repair from the technical bulletin. Basically, they were getting water inside and shorting out and, yes, in some cases started fires.
