Truck rattles then slips out of second gear what could it be?

You may have a problem in the transmission. What do you mean it rattles? Is the engine misfiring?

The engine is not misfiring, Only when I shift into 2nd, the shifter starts to shake then slips out of 2nd, then the truck rattles until I shift again. All other gears work fine but 2nd.

Sounds like a problem in that clutch pack. You may have to disassemble the transmission to find the problem
