I am looking for advice to fix a problem to shut off my fix engine light to pass inspection.I tokk it to auto zone and they gave me a reciept to show problem w/engine service light. It came up as secondary Air injection system fault. It listed the following probable causes,1.circut relay defective or fuse open,2.check connector and wiring,3.air pump defective or hoses blocked. How do I check the connector,is it by the fuse box under the hood? What does it mean when it says fuse open? Where is the circut delay? Is it by the fuse box under hood? and finally, where is the air pump/smog pump they are refering to? Any advice would be helpful because I need to get the service engine light off to pass inspection and I do not have the 660 dollars to get a waiver to repair in oder to pass inspection. Thanks for your time and I am looking foward to your help or directions on this issue.

The air pump may be damaged from water entry. There is a tsb for installing a sheild to protect the pump from future water intrusion. More than likely the pump itself is bad. I'll update this.

The pump is on the lower right front of the engine compartment. For whatever reason, I have limited info on this in Mitchell One. The plastic cover is only available at the dealer. If you don't install it, you do the pump again next year. But this is what it looks like:

If you disconnect the connector and put power to it, I expect it will not run.
