1997 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 97 chevy s10 pickup and I am trying to replace the spark plugs. I have replaced 4 of the 6, and I am having trouble getting at the last two because the steering shaft is in the way. Is there a special tool or technique that I cant seem to figure out to remove these?

Isn't that a fun spot for plugs?
You have a few options to change them. One is to buy a short plug socket that has a swivel built in. Sears and many parts stores have one that will work. Another option is to disconnect the lower steering shaft and move it out of the way. And another is to use a standard plug socket and a large box end to turn it and change the plugs. My personal method is to use the short swivel socket. For the easiest access go in through the wheel well with the tire removed.
