1997 Chevy S-10 parking brake cable

My parking brake cable broke and I can't figure out how to atach it at the brake release lever end. I got it through the floor board but can't see how it attaches to the brake release lever.

You have to remove the pedal first. Then the ferrule has to go through the little bracket, and then the cable with the plug on the end goes into the hole in the ratcheting cam. I hope this helps.
