1991 Chevy S-10 all circuts grounded on both sides

I disconnect the battery
whith a test light on the positive post and then again on the positive lead

the circut is complete

sometimes I have a bit of power to the dome light.
and as soon as I put in the key, all systems die

i just dont have the time to put off parts and start to ohm them all out!
can you help me before I shove it off of a cliff

You have a short circuit somewhere in the electrical system start removing fuses one at a time till your test light turns off, this is where your trouble circuit is. Better off use an ammeter sse bleow
