My car will not turn over

2001 chevy lumina 120,000 miles. I could not get my car to turn over. It would not even catch. I thought the battery was dead but my lights and radio came on. I tried to jump start it but that didn't help.

Take your battery to one of the auto parts stores and have them test the battery, I have seen batteries in some new cars that even with a jump that the battery was so bad that it would not turn the vehicle over, this same thing happened to my 02 durango. It you have access to a digital voltage meter connect it to the battery post and try and start your car. If the voltage on the battery drops below 9.5 volts then the battery is either low on charge or bad.
