My turn signals have stopped working. My hazard flashers continue to work.
I've replaced the fuse, and still nothing. The left turn signal has been working erratically, flashing quickly, or not at all, depending what angle I turned it on from, but could be corrected by turning it off and switching it on again more carefully. I don't believe I have a system with 2 flashers, one for hazards and one for the turn signal, where I could just replace the faulty flasher. The automotive parts store sent me to the dealer. I don't trust the particular dealer in my town, I've had too many bad experiences with them. I'm hoping I can replace the switch, without replacing the entire lever.
If I do have to replace the lever can I go to an independent mechanic?

Hello,

It sounds like the turn signal switch is faulty.
In order the replace the switch, the steering wheel needs to be removed.
Which will require disabling the airbag system before getting started.
Always take extra caution while working with the air bag system.

Here is a helpful guide:

I have attached diagrams and procedure for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
