2005 Chevy Malibu 2005 Chevy Malibu cuts off when put in ge

2005 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Automatic 128000 miles

my car starts fine in the morning or when the car has been sitting for a while like if I drive it to work and leave after work everything is fine but if I stop at the store or to get gas when I start back up it comes on but shuts off or I can press the gas to keep it on and it stays on but when I put it into gear (d or r) it immediately shuts off. After about 3 tries it will go but I have really press the gas and pray that it goes and it just sounds like i'm speeding off (scary) any suggestions? Timing maybe or tune up I never had either one of these but it only happens when I cut off the car and turn it back on in the morning and after long periods I have no problem with it thanks
