2000 Chevy Lumina fuel pump and gas tank

How do I hot wire a fuel pump to check and see if it working. Need to know which wire is hot and which is ground in the harness under the car near tank connected to pump. Thank Tom

Check for power and ground when key 1st on or in the crank position
if you have power and good ground unit no good
if not check fuses relays and wiring
DONT try to power up the pump very dangerous procedure
