how do I change the thermostat in this vehicle.

Follow the upper rad hose back to the engine. It will end at the thermostat housing. Drain the coolant, remove the upper hose from the housing, remove the bolts holding the theromstat, and the t-stat is under it. Reverse the sequence to replace.
