2006 Chevy Impala Heating problems

I'm having problems with my heater. When the car is idle and turned on and I turn on the heater, and all I get is col d air coming out and when the car is moving the heater heats up again. What is wrong with my heater?

Is your engine taking an unusually long time to warm up when you first start it? If so, replace the thermostat.
You could also have a weak water pump.
Another quick check: your level of coolant; make sure it's not low.
Let me know what you find out.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
