I was quoted $750 to get my water pump replaced. After reading about the water pump. I am not sure if that is the real problem. My car was not leaking anything. The heat was only working when I stepped on the gas. When I am on the brake then it would blow cold air. Does this sound like a water pump issue and is $750 the normal cost to replace this on my type of car.

What engine? 3.4 or 3.8.

The sypmtoms you describe sounds like a pump or possibly a restriction in cooling system.

$750 is a little steep in my opinion.

Does car overheat if idleing?
