Mt check engine light point to a shift solenoid. Theoretically, it can be fixed without dropping the transmission. Everyone, so far, has suggested replacing the whole thing with a rebuilt, or have it rebuilt, the cheapest way out of that being about 1200.00.

I could have it waived, and get a year to fix it, but I would never get another waiver.

Advice please.

Hello,

You can access the shift solenoid by removing the side cover of the transmission.
This vehicle has 2 shift solenoids.
One for 1-2 and the other 2-3.
Since it is relatively easy to replace the solenoids, it is probably a good idea to change them out to see if it fixed the issue, before rebuilding the transmission.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
