the traction control activates for no reason @ then the check abs light comes on

You will have to take car to trusted garage and have the ABS system scanned.
ABS faults are "C" chassis codes, autoparts stores cannot scan "C" codes ony "P" Powertrain codes.
It could be a wheel sensor, or the traction control module. You will need to have it scanned to find the fault.
