Turned key in ignition. No start. All lights on dash, radio worked. Took key in and out several times, turned off everything like radio, heat fan, but still did not work. No click, no grind, no cranking sound. 5 mins later tried again and it worked. Took to mechanic and he checked out starter (new in Feb), altenator and battery. All was fine. He suggested taking it the dealer and might be in the ignition. Any thoughts? What should I expect to pay and is this car worth it?

Sounds like the theft system is acting up. Is the security light on?

No, there are no warning lights on at all. When the car wouldn't start all the dash lights came on as they would with a normal start. Once I got it started it did have anything lit on the dash.

The security light would blink with the vehicle not running and the key on. Take a look at that when it doesnt start.
Sounds to me that you need a pass lock sensor
