2001 CHEVROLET IMPALA

I had someone siphon 1/4 tank of gas from a full tank as I did find my gas cap off. Car ran fine and still does, although after an 1 1/2 hrs driivng the engine ligth came on. The car had just been servied before this. Any suyggestions?

Some times the engine light will come on if the gas cap is not on good. You can check that first.

If not the cap, you will need to get the engine code read to tell you what is wrong.

I suggest Auto Zone or Advance to read the code for you.

Probably come up as evap system (small leak). I work at AutoZone. Definitely check your gas cap.

I have replaced the gas cap with the manufactures one, Still the light goes off and then comes back on. The code reader sasy P0440 and yes it ies the EVAP. The car has been inthe shop four tiems since and still they do not know. It is costing dolalrs for everyu tiem they hook up machine and get the say answer. Any furtehr suggetsionsother then checking all lines myself and next step takign the gas tank off.
